     Stewart Moore is a painter living and working in Nottingham, England.

     Being self-taught, but interested in art from an early age, his style has evolved through countless experimental iterations over many years before finally settling on a mixed media process that, he believes, best showcases his expressionistic vision.

     Obsessed by all forms of figurative art and occult literature, Stewart has combined his two passions and imagined a fictionalised world of intrigue and conspiracy for his own abstract figures to inhabit; an atmospheric realm inspired by archaic folklore and cultic superstition, with references to spiritual icons and the ritual worship of ancient deities.

     With a heavy focus on random texture, moody lighting effects and the contrast of both muted and saturated colour, his goal is to create dramatic works that impart a lingering sense of deep foreboding mystery.
